You may not live in Toronto. You might not even like baseball. But you have heard that the Oakland A’s are the worst baseball team and have been for a few years. So why does it seem like that this won’t be they case this year? Enter the Toronto Blue Jays. After a coaching miscue in the 2023 playoffs the Jays were back to square one. The 2024 Jays were even worse and entering the offseason something needed to change. But nothing happened. The GMs Atkins and President Shapiro weren’t fired. Vladdy Guerrero wasn’t (and still hasn’t) been resigned. They’ve spent lower than 5mill on players this offseason. It’s not just the Jays. The Raptors have been tanking this entire season. At least they win occasionally and have a good place for a draft pick but other than that the future looks bleak. Toronto FC the soccer team is also in a bad spot. Sure, they just missed the playoffs they should be fine. But no Insigne and Bernardeschi aren’t happy with management and the team not going anywhere. The only good team is the Leafs but come on. Are they even gonna get past the month of April?. This just shows how bad MLSE and Rogers ownership can be when the city needs its sports team to show up. Rogers is barely spending money and MLSE is only focused on the fanbases of the respected teams. Now if you’re an American sports fan or wherever you are from reading this article, you can’t imagine how much “What Ifs” are going through Toronto sports fans minds right now. But that’s another story. Until then let’s watch the KC Chiefs and their infinite luck win a super bowl (hopefully not).
